Last Minute Halloween Inspired Picks

So Halloween is a few days away and as usual, I'm not prepared. I've found a few last minute bits and bobs that could help with costume ideas, but are not solely synonymous with the day itself. I selected items that can be worn anytime during these festive next few months because in all reality the majority of us can't afford to spend a load of money on something we will only wear once, so I guess I'm being economic as well! All the items listed below are available for next day delivery, so if you see something you adore for Saturday (Halloween) then theres nothing stopping you snapping it up in time.

URBAN ESPRIT

The 90's is one of my favourite eras for style inspiration, it just reminds me of my childhood; denim dungarees, knitted bright coloured roll necks, cute little sneakers and a lot of sportswear influences (caps, baseball bombers, raglan tees....) and I basically love channeling this look. I think they key to bringing the 90's to your outfit is to incorporate key seasonal colours and pieces whilst perhaps selecting one item very true to the 90's like the mom jeans.

For the majority if the week, I'm on and off the train and doing a lot of walking to university and back, so it's predominantly about comfort and practicality whilst obviously being sassy at the same time. Now is the perfect time to bust out all your favourite autumn pieces in those beautiful shades of rust, khaki, camel, burgundy, orange...For a while now I've been stocking up on really simple and classic pieces i.e. basics. I used to gravitate towards bright, bold and flamboyantly printed pieces but when it came to actually styling them together it was a bit challenging. When you have a capsule or collection of pieces that can be interchanged and work well with each other, life is such a breeze because you can really easily attain a very classic look and throw an outfit together in 5 minutes.

I'd suggest stocking up for the season with a few roll necks in various colours, a statement jacket and/or a simple versatile coat that can be worn everyday, a good pair of leather boots/ trainers for the casual days, a corduroy item- perhaps a skirt or pinafore and maybe a couple of chunky knit sweaters that you can rotate with. Once you have your little capsule collection you can start thinking about incorporating a few more statement pieces like a printed blouse or leather-look trousers to spice it up. Autumn/Winter is all about the mixing of texture and tones, for me, but my top tip would definitely be to INVEST IN THE BASICS. I will perhaps look at dedicating a post entirely on my staples for the season as I will be able to go into more detail and feature pieces I find. Please Let me know if you'd be interested in this, because perhaps some lack a little knowledge and inspiration to execute successful seasonal dressing.

FALL SKIES

Lips;

So I'm obviously really excited about Halloween, it's not even so much the day itself, it's the build up. The beautiful bold colours, the weird little things and decorations that you can find in the shops but most importantly, pumpkins. I don't know what the obsession is with pumpkins, I think it's just because they're the epitome of Autumn and I love Autumn, unless I hadn't made that clear yet. I wonder how many times I can fit the word 'Autumn' into a single post... I will also throw out there that I hadn't even planned to photograph my outfit this day, hence why the lighting is slightly questionable as I rushed home at sunset to grab my camera and do them. I decided to because I was out and had had a crap ton of compliments about my lavish coat, plus i'm completely besotted with this top. The autumnal colours mixed with the velvet completely reminded me of something that Phoebe from Friends would wear- and we all want to channel a bit of Pheebs in life, I think. Plus, this is the time of year where you should snuggle up with a hot chocolate and watch every episode of Friends because it's Autumn is all about comfort, coziness and reminiscing on the beauty of the 90's and early naughties- there's a certain nostalgia that comes along with this season.

I'm a big fan of Motel because I adore print, and it's a trait they exude with nearly every piece. I feel like every autumn wardrobe should contain some sort of velvet because it's not appropriate any other time of year. I also thought that £22 was incredible for such a statement piece that can be styled in so many ways. This diamond of a coat was a gift from last Christmas and when I opened it, I genuinely thought it was some weird wig/ stuffed animal. Little did I know that it would be one of my biggest staples every autumn/winter. It was definitely an investment piece (around £100) but so, so worth it. A winter coat is one of the most justifiable splurges I believe, especially because if you play your cards right you can select something that looks so much more bespoke than it is- like this for example.

During fall you can never really go wrong with a detailed black bag and a beautiful pair of leather boots- perhaps the second most justifiable investment items, because like the coat they can be worn all through the season (at least 5 months of winter here in the UK) and then the following year, if kept well. It's also the time of year where we can completely celebrate the dark, vampy lip which just gives more of a depth and autumnal feel to any outfit.

We're nearing the end of October now, so make the most of the pretty leaves and the incredible sunsets!

OCTOBER LOVE LIST

Halloween is fast approaching, so instead of going with the usual orange and black colour way for my Love List for this month (like i did last year), I went for a darker more mysterious, star-kissed- whilst-worshiping-the-full-moon kind of vibe.

I keep going on about my love for this time of year, but it's true- I feel very inspired at the moment! I've got lots of post ideas coming up, so if you don't want to miss it go ahead and like Feveroce's Facebook page where I post blog updates- I always appreciate the support :)

AN ODE TO AUTUMN

Lips- Beguiled by Topshop (similar here)

This perfectly autumnal outfit is from my birthday on the 8th. I'm now 20- I don't know how this all happened but I'm like an actual adult now.... I know the last outfit was too long ago for my liking but life has changed an immense amount. I am now at University studying fashion design and really enjoying it, so life has been extremely busy but in a good way. I've hauled a load of new and beautiful new season pieces but just struggle finding the time to photograph and post, it would be such a waste not to share these stunning items.

Autumn/ fall is my favourite season, I can't go on about it enough because everything this time of year is just blissful; fashion, food, decor, the crisp weather and the orange and brown leaves- oh my god the leaves! I feel like everything this time of year is just so indulgent. You have to love a bit of affluence in the name of style and as usual the high street's ode to the opulence of winter fashion is incredible this season- it must be said. I could go on about Autumn for pages but I'll get straight into the outfit details.  My style is definitely evolving, I'm drawn to simplistic pieces and neutral tones far more than I used to be, which is definitely not a bad thing.

This throw-over sleeveless camel piece is ideal for this time of year when it can be really cold in the morning and heat up by the afternoon- and obviously completely satisfies my camel craving in every way. I love that it can be layered too, so for the colder days you could throw a chunky knit jumper underneath. Also from Missguided, I found this perfectly versatile bandage style asymmetrical wrap skirt, which comes in a huge selection of colours but of course I chose camel, but would definitely pick up another colour because it can be worn out or casual, it's the perfect fit and length which is really rare for me to find in a skirt. Also it's completely affordable at £15 and students receive 25% off at the moment, making it even more appealing- well done Misguided! (no, I'm not even sponsored). This block print top will probably be one of my most worn pieces because it goes with everything, the fit is perfection. It has a slight 'mock neck' and half sleeves which look very regal and just seems far more expensive than it was- another excellent staple piece.

Autumn and Winter is when we can completely loose our shit in terms of beautiful accessories. Faux fur, thick scarves, leather belts bags and boots, croc skin, dark tones, yes, yes, yes. I cannot enunciate how insanely beautiful this stole is from Zara. Go on the site. Order it. Thank me later. My boots are more of an investment but completely justifiable because I love a pointed toe, they're 100% leather and probably the sassiest looking boot that you don't have to sell your car to buy. I would perhaps suggest sizing down because the style makes the boot slightly longer than your average winter boot- it's quite elongated.

Yep, I love fall. I will hopefully be posting a lot more now that I'm settling in to this new lifestyle so as always stay tuned!
