NEW RAY BANS & BARE FACED BEAUTY

This week hasn't been all lollypops and bikinis, it's actually been a really challenging week. On Thursday I was supposed to fly out to Italy for a month or so to see my family and give my mind some space. This didn't happen. I'll cut the story short because most of you probably just want to see my new shades, but  I didn't fly out. I had a 3 hour panic attack and was completely incapable of leaving the house. It was probably a combination of factors that finally dissuaded me, but everything happens for a reason, I believe. I've always suffered with anxiety, especially associated with travelling but it had actually died down for a good few years, util now, where it returned with a vengeance. I was incredibly down for a few days with both my depression and anxiety hitting hard on the old cranium walls. I wallowed for a couple of days, but then I came to the conclusion that it was not okay to be so hard on myself. So instead of writing to you from the beach house in Sardinia, I'm writing from my usual spot, which I'm okay with for now.

My week in insta-snaps, if you don't already follow me

Anyone in Britain will be able to relate to my appreciation of this beautiful weather we've had for the past 3 days, so I've completely embraced it and accepted that I will have a tan, holiday or not. I treated myself to a new pair of perfectly retro-looking Ray Bans. I adore Ray Ban, they're a classic and timeless brand but also come up with the most awesome new styles.  Probably the most justifiable purchase during the spring and summer months. You know the quality is guaranteed and there is a style for every personality and every face shape. I purchased mine at a local Sunglass Hut here in Brighton where there is an an excellent selection. Buying them in store means that you are really able to experiment with styles and see what suits your face best.

The day I photographed my shades, I was just chilling in the garden- make-up less- and I basically want to encourage all the women out there to completely embrace your bare faces. As much as we all love to transform our faces with bronzer, lip liner, eyeliner etc. It's so unrealistic to think that we should always adopt this appearance. I don't have flawless skin, I have scars, blemishes, freckles, stretch marks, an ass that just won't quit and all the rest of it, but I think there's something perfectly natural about these things that we label as 'imperfections'.  I will always whole-heartedly argue that there is a definite beauty to a naked face and we should definitely be celebrating this with everything else that is stripped back during the summer months.

Buy these exact Ray Bans here
or have a peruse on the Ray Ban site for more beautiful styles.

Peace!
