MINTY FRESH

So I photographed this outfit over a month ago which is why it's not overly summery, but fresh enough for the season, I hope. It's simplistic and clean which has been the theme of most my outfits this season- a far more timeless and classic style compared to pieces I may have chosen in the past. I did actually type out this entire post yesterday and my shit of a computer decided not to save it, so I've had to start from scratch so excuse my brevity; I'm going to jump straight in with my 'Jamie' jeans.

I've said it time and time again, but Topshop is my holy grail for jeans. I usually go for the 'Jonie' style which is more of a disco pant fit with a jegging inspired fabric, but after having fallen in love with my pair of ripped black Jamie's, I thought I'd go right ahead and try them in another colour style. I was not disappointed, these are my new favourites. I sit between a size 26 and 28 so I need to size up in order for the jeans to fit me properly on the backside and therefore tighten the waist quite a lot with a belt and the Jamie's have loop holes in order for me to do this, which the Joni's don't have. I know a lot of women with this same problem. For me, the rips completely make the jean, as we all know that knee rips and slits have been worn by everyone and their mother this season and I am embracing it too because it just adds a bit of edge and interest to what could be a very plain outfit. I obviously went for the Petite, but they are also available in the core and Tall collections so we can all enjoy these timeless beauties.

Let's move swiftly on before this post turns into a novel, the piece de resistance of my life for the past few months have been my mint green Nike Air Max. Until now, I would never have been seen in public wearing a gym style sneaker as I'm more of a heel girl but it's about finding the right style and pair for you. Seeing as I'm only 4ft10.5 I had a slight phobia of flat shoes because no 20 year old woman wants to look like an over-dressed eight year old, but I have broken the mould. If you choose the right colour, they will look super sleek and classic paired with any outfit. I realise that £100 is steep for a pair of sneakers but I'm so glad I took the plunge. I kind of want them in every colour because they can also been worn for a good old run or just running errands. I will say though, that after wearing them for hours on end they don't perhaps support the sole of the foot as much as I would like, but that can be sorted with an insole. I also love pairing them with pretty pastel coloured socks that poke out the top for a preppier look.

As I said before the rest of the outfit is very minimal with classic neutral pieces and accents of green accessories because I just have a thing for green. I do have an offensive amount of summer clothes however, so look forward to some posts geared towards a hotter climate as I plan to go on holiday next month.

As always, let me know what you think!
