LABEL LUST: EMPTY CASKET MINI HAUL

I came across the independent online jewelry store Empty Casket through instagram and each day I'd scroll through their magical and whimsical pieces, only hoping that one day I would get my hands on some of their products, and low and behold, a very mini 'haul' from this awesome little creative brand...

Initially I was drawn to the uniqueness of the brand, and seeing as this very dainty style of jewelry is very on trend and 90's, I figured why not branch out my online shopping destinations and give custom to a smaller brand for once. I was pleased with my products and I found the brand as a whole very affordable, however, I was expecting the ring to be slightly bigger, but I guess that's the trouble with online shopping-it's rarely accurate in displaying product size and sometimes quality. However, I look forward to wearing my chokers and ring. I would definitely recommend the brand, as they have a huge selection from rings to bangles and necklaces with a range of colored gems, crystals and stones too.  Let's also appreciate the adorably quirky packaging- perhaps a cool addition that other brands should invest in- it definitely adds to the experience and shows care towards the customer as well as attention to detail which are always good signs from my perspective.

THE ROMWE COMPETITION

Last week I was approached  by the Asian clothing company Romwe.com with the challenge of styling the 'Venus Sweatshirt' which I purchased quite a few months back. I originally styled it here, for my very first OOTD.  I opened the e-mail on the bus and I was overwhelmed with excitement because it meant that if my photos were approved, I could have been featured on their homepage, which would have been an awesome opportunity for myself and my dear little blog. 

A long story short, my photos were not chosen to be featured on their site, which I won't lie, was hugely disappointing because I stupidly got my hopes too high, when there were probably hundreds of competitors. I did however follow their styling guides (style with denim shorts or a skirt), which I did, despite the fact I would never style the thick sweat with such like shorts, so I guess in that respect I wasn't completely true to my style. I tired to set my pictures apart with a somewhat opulent tone opting for gold accessories, a collared shirt and a very put-together looking satchel-focusing on the very on trend hue of baby blue. I even shaved my legs. Surely that deserves some kind of reward?

Even though my efforts amounted to little, here are a couple of shots for my blog viewers (all six of you!)...just kidding, Iv'e surpassed 6,650 views which is an amazing achievement, but still no darn followers, so spread the word! Jokes aside, I've mentioned the great quality of the Venus Sweatshirt many times, It's a wonderful fabric and the print is lavishly pigmented plus it's just so unique and at a great price point.

SUMMER SERIES: SHOE COLLECTION

Hello to all! I've decided to spice things up a little here on Feveroce. I thought it would be interesting and maybe even helpful if I did a 'Summer Series' which will basically encapsulate all things summer over several posts, like my current shoe collection, beach essentials, what's in my travel bag etc.  So without further a due, here is my current Summer Shoe Collection..I've included all shoes that should still be available online and in store, because why would anyone want to see my old deck shoes?... 

 I purchased these white gladiators at the start of spring because I felt, and still feel that they are just a really simple summer staple that can be paired with anything- day or night, smart or casual. The gold strip at the back of the heel set the sandals apart from all the other bog standard white sandals I came across, adding an element of class and interest. Lets face it, I'm an absolute sucker for gold hardware and I'm quite particular when it comes to shoes, especially sandals and the current selection is quite overwhelming, but these really stood out to me.  See how I styled them here.

I'm so ashamed to say that I've had these beauties for a good few months now, but I have struggled to style them in a casual way because I don't go to too many fancy events but I love the idea of these with a white tee and baggy jeans, I just can't picture myself struggling on and off the bus with them. I guess they were a bit of an impulse buy because I adore court shoes  and they are literally the perfect pastel shade for summer plus they have this interesting suede-like finish.

I'm all about the 90's style; printed t's. cropped vests, denim jackets, chokers and holographic everything. Not to mention my muse with gold, these are the epitome of my ideal summer sandal.  I saw them as soon as they came out, and was willing to pay the original price but when they went down to £20 I snapped them up real fast. I love the edge they give to any outfit...they're just so damn sexy (in my opinion anyway)...I feel like River Island have done great things this season, shoe wise.

Jelly shoes are the shoes of my childhood, and I'm so glad I got a pair because they're very versatile and I love the fun edge they add, plus they look so beachy and summery. See how I styled them here, where I go into more jelly detail.

I had to include a picture of these sparkly purple pair from when I was about two. Maximum level of cuteness.

These black chunky gladiator sandals are so easy to style, and similarly with the gold holographic pair, add a great edgyness because of the block heel and cleated sole. Again, another summer staple but because they're black, they can so easily be dressed up for the evening too.

OOTD: FLORAL F*%!ING QUEEN

*WARNING- THIS OUTFIT CONTAINS WHAT SOME MIGHT FIND AN OVERWHELMINGLY OFFENSIVE AMOUNT OF BOTANICAL ACTION* Don't like Florals? I suggest you exit the page now. 

 I always go on about my love for all things floral, but this perhaps takes my love to another level. I purchased this floral headband from Primark thinking I would never wear it whilst hating the fact I had caved in to the floral head crown trend, which at times can look painfully mainstream and tacky. I figured for £2, or whatever it was, I may as well try spicing it up in an Evvy way. It's not as pink as it seems to be coming up on camera, far more of a coral shade in fact, so is the jacket and crop top. This ribbed coral crop is one of the many colors brought out by Topshop this season, and I knew I would get a lot of use out of it so I purchased this awesome neon coral shade as well as a black one. 

I had been saving this beuteous botanical shirt that I picked up at the Brighton Vintage Fair since April  , because I actually struggled to style it until now, and in reality there's no real chic inspiration here, simply a combination of bright summer pieces that I threw together an decided I liked. 

This outfit also features a few sale steals; first of all this urban retro inspired gold chain which I grabbed in the Zara sale because we all know I have a slight obsession/addiction/dependency to gold gangster style necklaces, and for £9.99 in the Zara sale, it would have actually been disrespectful of me not to pick it up. Secondly the coral jellies which I had been spying on since they first came out at the begining of the season (when I also did an entire post of my love for them- here) so when River Island reduced them to £10 I snapped them up like it was nobody business. I appreciate that jelly shoes are very love/hate but they remind me of my child hood and when I tried them on they were  comfy (not after wearing all day though I will add) plus I have a load of outfits I could pair them with so...that's my justification.

OOTN: AFRICAN SAVANNAH

Lets not ignore the obvious. Its the dress of all dresses and since the moment +River Island released this print into their Spring/Summer collection I've been head over heels in awe -literally. I featured a bomber jacket with this same print in my May Love List, which I still adore, but I just so happened to be browsing the River sale and I thought it was a hallucination when I saw this beauty of a piece reduced to £25, so I did what I do best and whipped out my credit card. Fabric wise, its strange, an almost 'crate paper' feel but less horrific, or even like a shower curtain or a sports jacket...enough of the wildly inaccurate descriptions. The point is, its light and airy but could still be worn in colder months with tights and boots... 

My Zara coral jacket has been one of my go-to pieces recently because it can be so dressy whilst adding a casual edge, and as I've said before, I'm really into monotone dressing at the moment so it just complimented the mass of peachy orangeness wonderfully. Check out my review of the Zara Experience featuring this coat. Whilst on the subject of Zara, let me show my appreciation for my new favorite shoe. I picked up these orange leather courts in store in their summer sale, and oh sweet Moses, they're fabulous. They have to be some of the most comfortable heels I've ever worn, because of the leather, the heel height, the width- it's all perfect, and of course the insane price (were £50, I paid £25). If you get a chance to grab these then do, because they can be that pop of wonder to a plain outfit or compliment an equally vibrant ensemble. 

They say you're either a silver or gold person, and I'm certainly on the gold side, hence the accessories. It's all very simple and elegant, with the help of my mums coral necklace. On my lips I wore 'Dangerous' by Gosh which is this deep orange and I've never tried any Gosh products but this lipstick was great- pigmented and very moisturizing. Nails wise I tried an unusual ombre creation type thing with three shades of orange & yellow, which turned out to be pretty damn dope if I do say so myself.
